ToolsByRole is a static informational site. We don't run user accounts, we don't sell data, and we collect the minimum we need to keep the site working.

What we collect

Analytics: We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages people visit and from where. This data is aggregate and does not identify individual visitors. We do not use Google Analytics for tracking individuals across sites.

Affiliate cookies: When you click a link to an AI tool we recommend, the receiving vendor (or their affiliate network like Impact, PartnerStack, or Rewardful) may set a cookie to credit us with the referral if you sign up. These cookies are set by the vendor, not by us, and follow that vendor's privacy policy.

Server logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs basic request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and infrastructure purposes. We do not access these logs for marketing.

What we don't collect

• We don't run user accounts on this site.
• We don't have a newsletter signup form (as of 2026-05-17).
• We don't sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties.
• We don't use cross-site tracking pixels for advertising retargeting.

• Functional cookies from Vercel, used to route requests to the nearest edge location. These do not track you.
• Affiliate referral cookies set by vendors when you click their link from our site. See above.

Your rights

If you're in the EU, UK, California, or other jurisdictions with applicable data protection laws, you have the right to request access to any data we hold about you, request deletion, or object to processing. Since we don't maintain user accounts or marketing databases, the most likely answer to a data request is "we have nothing identifying you." Email chris@toolsbyrole.com to make a request.
